I think many people typically envision the size of a ball screw as something you can hold in your hand or carry around; or a screw jack lifting a vehicle or a load on a pallet. Nook has definitely been a driving force in smaller-scale applications in sectors such as aerospace, defense, and medical. In this case, we are using the terms "small and large scale" in reference to physical size of the application.

However, for decades Nook has also specialized in providing large-scale linear motion products for large-scale infrastructure projects. We routinely stock ball screw and acme screw lengths up to 24' in length. For custom projects, we have also completed several projects involving screw lengths in the 40' to 50' range.

This is often comprised of facilities necessary for economic and industrial function. This includes (but is not limited to) public and private physical structures such as roads, railways, bridges, tunnels, water supply, sewers, electrical grids, and telecommunications (including internet connectivity).
