Online Access To Fully Configurable Product Models Saves Customers Time And Effort

Nook Industries, a leading manufacturer of linear motion control systems and components, today announced the availability of fully configurable 2D and 3D CAD models of its products for download in all major CAD formats from its web site:

Engineers can now leverage the Nook web site to identify, configure, view, and download 2D and 3D models of Nook systems and components in their particular CAD format for immediate inclusion in their product designs. This capability saves engineers the time and effort required to model components from the Nook catalog and also provides engineers with additional flexibility for selecting the best configuration for their particular application.

Roger Clark, a design engineer for Remmele Engineering, says the ability to download CAD models from Nook both saves remodeling time and helps engineers improve their designs. "The overriding benefit is the greater design flexibility it gives us. When we modeled a component in the past, we often had to work with what we had or spend additional time modeling another configuration. Now, if a particular configuration doesn't work, we can download a different configuration. With this added flexibility, we often download three or four product configurations and have the time to evaluate which one works best," Clark says.

"Because our customers operate in lean manufacturing environments, it is critical that we provide engineers with fast access to as much information as possible," notes Ron Domeck, President of Nook Industries. "Offering a customer complete CAD data frees up valuable engineering time that can be applied to optimizing product designs."

2D and 3D models of Nook products - including PowerAc™ Acme Screw Assemblies, PowerTrac™ Ball Screw Assemblies, End Machining & EZZE-MOUNT™ End Bearing Supports, ActionJac™ Worm Gear Screw Jacks, ActionJac Electric Cylinders - in all major CAD formats, including AutoCAD®, SolidWorks®, CATIA® and Pro/E®, are available for download at
