The calculator works by simply choosing the desired product, entering its load definitions and allowing the tool to calculate the bearing stress and load to determine the bearing life of the product. The results can be viewed on an easy-to-read, printable format.

"Since they are typically buried within the actuator, it's often impossible to know exactly where the bearings are located, so many engineers have to guess when figuring out the size of the load" said Ronald Giovannone, project manager at Nook Industries. "This calculator was designed to eliminate guessing and give you accurate results in a straightforward, easy way.
